Originally made for the Italian Opera House in Covent Garden.
This collection is used for history studies in schools, and represents a cross-section of citizenry from an ancient Egyptian community…both wealthy and servant classes.
War shortages prompted mothers to cut down adult garments for children, so I did the same for this school collection. Most heads were covered in those days, so costumes included hats or hairbows.
